About Robinson Psychology


Elise is the founder of Robinson Psychology, which was created in 2014. She has over 13 years experience training and working as a psychologist, and holds specialist endorsement within the area of forensic psychology. Elise has worked with adults and adolescents in community and custodial forensic environments in addition to community mental health and private practice, and continues to work with clients who have various and complex needs.

Elise is relaxed, warm and personable and strives to create an environment where you can feel empowered to take control of
your life. She understands that feeling a sense of connection with a mental health professional is imperative in order to feel supported in making changes. Feedback is consistently sought and encouraged to ensure the time spent with you is tailored to your individual needs.

Elise is invested in the progress and success of her clients. She uses evidenced based treatment modalities that have been scientifically proven to be effective including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solutions Focussed Therapy and Strengths and Mindfulness based techniques. She regularly attends training and professional development workshops to continue to find innovative ways to help clients improve their mental health and wellbeing.

Elise takes pride in her personal and transparent approach, which has supported many clients with making long-term change. Her philosophy is that psychological sessions are client-centred; that is, sessions are for you! You can talk about anything you like without feeling pressure. You bring the expertise about YOU and she will bring the psychological knowledge, theories and different treatment modalities.
